and just decided to take a break and

paint something smaller. 

There is no exact location for this painting,

it's imaginary, based upon places

I've been and reference material I have.

I seem to be more and more interested in 

the limitless shapes and forms of clouds

especially when created from one's imagination.

I like the idea of the sailboats for depth perception.

abstract than my usual style of floral works.

I've painted it with a brush rather than with 

a palette knife and I've approached it

in a more traditional manner.

A new painting "Evening Light" by David Edwards

This painting is actually acrylic infused with sand

to create an irregular textured surface. It is 

then heavily varnished to protect the surface.

I have done a few of these over the years

and the texture seems to add interest to 

the foreground of the painting.
